The tournament began well for Fnatic as they managed to take down Team Curse EU, two to zero, and make it to the semifinals. Feeling the need for a change, they signed in top laner Paul “ sOAZ” Boyer to replace Shushei, and after a 5 month trial with Patrick “ Pheilox” Riehle, they finally settled on Christoph “ nRated” Seitz, for the support role, one week prior to the Season 2 Regional Finals.
